January 25, 2008… yes, almost thirteen years ago. Matthew practically had to drag Tyson out of his apartment to go on their first date in Burlingame, CA, but after that first Italian meal Tyson wouldn’t leave his side. (Tyson may tell it a little differently.) Shortly thereafter the decision was made to leave the bay and move to Matt’s old stomping grounds in West Hollywood, finding our first apartment together in November 2008. Enter Bailey, our now 12 year old Bogle.
We have enjoyed many adventures together and found our mutual love for travel uniting. Our travels have taken us to the frozen fjord and glaciers of Alaska, the exotic beaches of Thailand, the whimsical windmills of Amsterdam and the cultural and historical museums of Paris. Most recently we trekked the ancient ruin trails of the Incas in Peru. Naturally, Matt had to propose during an adventure… up in the sky, flying high in a parasail above the blue waters of Hawaii (in 2014).
In July 2017, we made the ‘brave’ decision to leave West Hollywood and move to the other side of the Hollywood Hills, also know as THE VALLEY. We purchased our first home, a cute townhouse in Toluca Lake and have enjoyed the walkable neighborhood restaurants, the acceptable number of community dogs, and the surprisingly quieter atmosphere. (We’re not that far from our old place.) We’ve spent the subsequent years remodeling and making it our own.
Our mutual love for this beautiful planet (of which we still want to experience so much more) and the desire to live ethically, consciously, and empathetically help our love for each other grow stronger every day.
